A Year in Review

I would like to thank you for the support you have shown to the WCGTC this year. During 2017, our website has had more than 19,000 visitors from more than 150 countries! The countries with the most visitors include USA, Australia, Turkey, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Brazil, and Hong Kong SAR China. We are always looking for ways to improve our website to make it more beneficial for members and people around the world seeking information about gifted education. Please share any suggestions you may have.

As the year comes to a close, it is important to reflect and plan for the future. The 22nd World Conference was a huge success, attracting 730 participants from 35 countries. A huge thank you goes to the Local Conference Committee from the School of Education at the University of New South Wales. Their preparation made for a wonderful conference filled with learning and networking. You can review the conference program at https://world-gifted.org/WCGTC17-Program.pdf.

We have also been busy preparing for the next World Conference that will take place in Nashville, Tennessee July 24 – 28, 2019. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us in Music City! For more information, visit www.worldgifted2019.com. We look forward to sharing more information about this conference with you in the new year.

Another positive change is the transition to accepting manuscripts for Gifted and Talented International online through ScholarOne. This online platform makes the review process easier and more efficient. We look forward to receiving many quality manuscripts for publication. If you are interested in submitting a paper, please visit www.world-gifted.org/gti-submission. For more information about GTI, including a list of the most recent articles, visit www.world-gifted.org/gti.

It is most important to recognize and thank our members. We currently have 450 members representing 70 countries! Fifteen of these countries provided reports for the most recent issue of the World Gifted newsletter that can be accessed at https://www.world-gifted.org/World-Gifted-News…/wg-36(1).pdf. It is very encouraging to see support coming from so many areas around the world. Your support is vital to the WCGTC in fulfilling our mission of advocating for gifted and talented children around the world. We look forward to expanding opportunities for member engagement in the coming year and are keen to hear from you.

Thank you for all you do for the WCGTC and gifted children worldwide. I wish you a happy new year!

Best,
Tyler Clark
WCGTC Executive Administrator
